Counselling
Reaching out to a counsellor can seem daunting, but the process is led by you. For example, we would initially have a short telephone conversation or zoom call, depending on what you feel comfortable with. Within this, we would discuss what has brought you to therapy and how our sessions will work, to make sure that we are the right therapeutic fit for each other.
There is no pressure to book an appointment at the end of this call, and you are welcome to take some time to think about it if you need to.
Following this, our sessions together will offer you the time and space to explore any issues you are experiencing in a safe and confidential environment. As a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for positive change and so we will work together to create a trusting, open space.
I will tailor counselling techniques to meet your individual needs and circumstances, supporting you to increase your awareness so that you can make any changes you feel will benefit you.
I aim to ensure that you will leave having gained an insight and understanding into your patterns of thinking, feeling or behaviour: supporting you to let go of old habits. It can also help you to come to terms with what cannot be changed and support you to move forward, at a pace that suits you.
